Flip/Flop February Day 1 - Gradient / Skittle

So for Jilltastic Nail Design's Flip/Flop February 28 Day Challenge the two options were Gradient  or Skittles.
I decided to do gradient, mostly because I struggle with it and thought it was a great way to improve.

I also decided as this is a February Challenge I would challenge myself to see if I could use pink in every mani I do, if not as the dominant color I want it to at least be in there somewhere.

I started this mani off by using Rainbow by Chins Glaze as a base color. I love this polish it is a pearlized white with a almost pinkish undertone to it.

I used Oh Cabana Boy by Orly and Shining Heart by Sinful Colors with a fan brush to create my gradient effect. I find for me a fan brush works much better than a makeup sponge in this application.

Once my gradient was in place and sufficiently dried I used two coats of Snowflakes by Color Club over the entire nail. Just because I love the effect created by mylar fleck style glitters.

Polishes used:
Base color: Rainbow by China Glaze
Pinks: Oh Cabana Boy by Orly and Shining Heart by Sinful Colors
Glitter: Snowflakes by Color Club

  1. This came out so nice. I have never thought of using a fan brush to achieve the gradient, it looks like it worked well for you. Do you have a tutorial you can suggest for the technique?
